Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan II today reiterated his commitment to continue to serve God, and the country while serving his family for the remaining three years of his term as a Senator.
In his message to his avid supporters, Honasan said he was moved by the prayers, trust and support extended to him by his mistahs in the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) ‘Matatag’ Class of 1971, as well as the support given by his brothers and sisters at the Philippine Guardians Brotherhood, Inc. and the public.
“Thank you very much for the prayers, trust and support that gave me the honor and privilege of running for Vice President of the Philippines in the recent national elections,” he said.
Honasan added, he may not be the popular choice of the Filipino voters in the recent vice presidential race, but the willingness and dedication of his volunteers should be lauded.
“I commend those who volunteered, those who believed that I can make a difference, that I can do something for our country, which despite the hazards of their daily life went out of their way and explained to the public UNA’s (United Nationalist Alliance) platform of government, as a possible alternative to voters especially the young and new ones,” Honasan said.
He likewise said: “In God’s grace I still have until 2019, to give service to the Filipino people, a service inspired by courage, integrity and loyalty” that way we will never go wrong.
At the same time, Honasan congratulates Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo for winning the vice presidential race in the now concluded 2016 national elections.
“To Vice President-Elect Leni Robredo, please accept our congratulations and prayers for the wisdom, compassion, courage and vison to help, heal, unite and lead the Filipino people towards the brighter future they have dreamed, prayed and worked hard for the sake of our children,” Honasan said.
